Welcome to Charlton Kings Tennis Place.  In line with the latest Government advice, we are pleased to announce that we will be starting our new season on Saturday 3rd April 2021.  Social distancing and other covid-19 measures will still be in place to ensure safety. 

About the Club
Charlton Kings Tennis Place in Cheltenham is a friendly local tennis club. The club is proud to be based at Balcarras School Sports Centre.

In 2020 we had exciting facility news - we are now a 7 court venue.  The Club is now using the school's 4 brand new multi use tennis courts, as well as the existing 3 top quality all weather courts.

The club offers something to members of all ages and abilities.  It provides a seasonal club making it affordable to join for up to six months.  There is a mix of organised social, coaching, competitive and casual play opportunities.

We are an LTA registered club which means certain minimum standards have to be met to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all players. It also means that members can expect access to the Club's annual Wimbledon Ballot.

Despite the negative impact of coronavirus on tennis we had lots of positive things to take away from this season.  Here are a few comments from our members:

Good news... new LTA venue guidance released 13 July means clubs are able to go ahead with more activities including club nights, tournaments and competitions.  Our junior summer holiday camp can now go ahead and our normal coaching course in September too.

Revised coaching programme now being offered but with restrictions in place due to social distancing guidelines.  

Launch of first social tennis Thursday evening 18th June - but not as you know it! 

Exciting news - our 4 new courts have been completed and we are now a 7 court club!  

Due to coronavirus we are not able to provide our usual programme and some activities are not able to take place.  There is now a revised coaching programme in place - please contact us for details.
